Since 1960, James M. Roberts has
maintained his commitment to evangelism, missions, prayer and outreach. In February, 2001, he served as Interim Pastor and
then a year later in February, 2002, became our Pastor at St. Paul’s Missionary Baptist Church, where he leads one of
the most sincere and Christ-seeking congregations in all of southwest Florida.
The church currently has more than a dozen ministries reaching out to the neighborhood and the world, and
has weekly services, bible studies, Sunday school, prayer hours, and a variety of ways to allow both members and visitors
alike to connect with and serve our Lord.
A native of Bradenton, Florida,
he was the oldest of three, born to James and Lizzie Roberts. He received his education in the public school system in Bradenton
and has completed other bible studies throughout his adult life. As an inspiring and motivational pastor, his sermons are
based on nearly fifty years of religious experience. Pastor Roberts experience includes such areas as: Family & Marriage
Counseling, Bible Expository Teaching, Devotion to Youth and Children, Church Growth, Debt-Free Living, Christian Doctrine,
Ministerial Ethics, Church Administration as well as working alongside our Associate Ministers, Deacons and Deaconesses,
As a true believer in the community, Pastor Roberts has helped
to lead St Paul’s to growing our edifice. The church is expanding to include two new event facilities, which can be
joined to host major events, new offices for our ministries to be based, a new kitchen, a new ‘cry room’, and
a new congregation area and baptismal. Being involved in the community, Pastor Roberts is affiliated with many local organizations
and is currently serving on the Aids Advisory Board for Manatee County and the Ministerial Alliance also for Manatee County.
Pastor Roberts has been an advisor to local leaders in the community and has been called upon to provide leadership on issues
impacting the cities of Bradenton and Palmetto.
Pastor Roberts has been married to Harriet Roberts for more than 35 years and they have been blessed with six children.
